"HOW TO" - Winter Germans Part 1

Hello :)

This is the first Part of a new Thread Series called " HOW TO " where i show some Step by Step WIPs of my current Projects.

I start with my Winter Germans for Bolt Action from Warlord Games and hope you like it.

I generally start with a grey Primer as grey works pretty well with any colors to paint. Normally the next step is to paint all the Faces as me thinks that a miniature that has a Face with eyes looks at you and inspires you so to go ahead. It becomes a soul if you like so. For painting faces i will do an other HOW TO pretty soon, but in this one i will concentrate on the german uniform grey :)

Heute geht es los mit dem aller ersten Teil der neuen Beitragsserie " HOW TO " wo ich Schritt für Schritt zeige wie ich an meinen Projekten gearbeitet habe.

Plague Drones / Seuchendrohnen

Hello :)

And the next parts of the deamon army is going to be finished soon.

Here we have the Plague Drones finished but but without the riders and the final bases, they will be added in a few days.

The drones got the same colors as the Kromlech lord, so again, green, brown, ochre and violet and finally blood.
I thought it would be cool to have some glitter wings like a dragonfly in the sun but the rest already rotted and infected with the plague of nurgle. For that i airbrushed them in several metallics from SCALE 75 and gev them a very very soft violet wash.
Me likes the combination of the rotten and the glitter alot as it is a bit crazy to have 2 different ideas combined in one miniature.
I also want to add some slime with the glue from UHU method :D but just when the rest is finished
so i hope you like them so far and please feel free to give me your comments and feedback.

Und der nächste Teil der Dämonenarmee ist fast fertig.

Diesmal die Seuchendrohnen die schon fertig sind, aber noch ohne Reiter und finalem Base. Das kommt in den nächsten Tagen.

Auch bei den Drohnen habe ich wieder die gleiche Farbpalette benuzt wie beim KROMLECH Charakter; also grün, hellbraun, ocker, lila und blut.
Bei den Flügel habe ich mir gedacht es wäre cool wenn sie wie bei einer Libelle schillern würden wenn sie durch die Sonne fliegt und gleichzeitig als Kontrast der verrottete Körper der von Nurgle infiziert ist und die Seuche in sich trägt. Für die Flügel benuzte ich also verschieden Metallicfarben von SCALE 75, die ich anschließend ganz vorsichtig mit lila lasierte.
Mir geällt diese Kombination und der Kontrast zwischen den Flügeln und dem Pestlook des restlichen Modells sehr gut, da es irgendwie zu CHaos passt und etwas verrückt ist.
Am Ende werde ich noch ein paar Uhu Schleimfäden an die Miniatur bringen.
Ich hoffe Euch gefallen diese kleinen Monster und ich freue mich über jeden Kommentar und jede Menge feedback

Taking Part in the "Portal Paint off'"

Serwus!

Ich wurde von Adam Parkhouse (Portal Magazine)  gefragt ob ich beim "Portal Paint off" mitmachen möchte. Ein Wettbewerb der anderen Art, indem wöchentlich Aufgaben zu erledigen sind. Eine Runde geht 3 Wochen lang. 1. Woche "Basing" 2. Woche "Technical" "Metallics"  3. Woche "fertige Mini". Dann ist die "Jury" gefragt, denn einer fliegt am Ende der Runde raus. Hier hab ich schonmal meine fast fertige Base gebaut, inklusive einer Stellprobe mit einer Figur von "Figone". Wie man erkennen kann hab ich bei der der Base auf die Linienführung beim Bau geachtet. Die Äste des Baumes, der Zaun, und die Wurzeln zeigen in eine Richtung zur Figur. Mal sehen wie weit ich komme, ich halte euch auf den Laufenden. Lieben Gruß Jürgen

I was asked by Adam Parkhouse (Portal Magazine) if I want to take part in "Portal Paint off". A competition of a different kind, as tasks must be performed weekly. A round runs for 3 weeks. First  week "Basing", second week "Technical" "metallics" third week "finished Mini". Then the "jury" is required because one of the participants flies out at the end of each round. Here I have my almost-finished base built, including a reference sample with a figure of "Figone". ......

WIP - Warhammer 40.000 - Thousand Sons - Rhinos

Hello my friends

Today i want to show you a project where a lot of lets call "Special effects" are in the making.
This Warhammer 40.000 Army of the Thousand Sons has a very, imho, outstanding theme. My dear customer sended me the army and we talked a while and then decided to do it very very used and battle demaged. In general CHAOS is demaged and used as they do not reall< care about their stuff ;) The army has just a handfull of vehicles, 2 Rhinos, 1 Predator and 1 Forgefiend. The Army Leader is Ahriman himself who looks over 4 tactical squads of thousand sons, 40 Chaos Space Marines all in all. We also made the decision that every Rune, lights, weapons will get these glowing effects. So on this nearly but not jet finished Rhinos you see a loads of weathering. We have scratches, Rust, dirt, dust, grime and many many more effects all done with the awesome sortiment of AMMO of MIG JIMENEZ
The cool thing on weathering a sience fiction or fantasy vehicle is, that you can play as much as you want with weathering...who will say in the year 40.000 it is unrealistic ? *hehe* The Light and glow effects come from PK-PRO

Okay enough of the talk lets see what a mess i've done :)

Heute möchte ich euch ein Projekt vorstellen das etwas anders ist und mit jeder Menge sagen wir "Spezialeffeckten" daher kommt.
Diese Warhammer 40.000 ARmee der Thousand Sons hat, meiner Meinung nach, ein wirklich besonderes Thema. Mein Kunde übergab mir diese Armee und wir nahmen uns ausreichend Zeit darüber zu entscheiden wohin der Weg uns führen soll. Wir entschieden uns dafür eine wirklich gebrauchte, von Kampfspuren und Alter gezeichnete Armee zu kreieren, die den Eindruck des absoluten Verfalls und Alters darstellt, da doch die Thousand Sons nur durch einen Willen geleitet sind und jeder im inneren seiner Rüstung aus Sand ohne jegliches Leben existiert, nur gelenkt durch den Geist starker Charaktere.

Die Armee besteht zur Zeit nur aus einer hand voll Fahrzeuge, zwei Rhinos, ein Predator und ein Schmiedemonster. Angeführt wird die ARmee durch Ahriman persönlich und unter seinem Kommando haben wir 4 komplette Trupps Chaos Space Marines also 40 Infantristen in allem.

In diesen beiden fast fertigen Rhinos wurden jede Menge Weatherings eingearbeitet. Wir haben Staub, Schmutz, Rost, Kratzer und vieles mehr an diesen Modellen. Alle diese Effeckte wurden mit den großartigen Produkten von AMMO of MIG JIMENEZ , die Glow Effeckte kommen von PK-PRO .
DAs schöne bei Sience Fiction ist, das man es auch gerne ein bischen übertreiben kann, denn wer will schon sagen das im Jahr 40.000 unrealistisch ist ;)

Okay genu geredet, lasst uns die Schweinerei die ich veranstaltet habe mal anschauen :)

High Elve Reavers / Hochelfen Grenzreiter

Hi Folks

It's time to Show off the latest work on the High Elve Army.

This comission is a really big one and here we have the idea of a well knowen Color sheme from VOLOMIR's High Elves
So the complete Army is in that Color sheme but of course not in that Golden Deamon High Standard ;)

So These Reavers are finished as the first troops in that Army but the bases.
I will cast own bases for that army and apply them later during the process.

I hope you like them and as always i would like to har and see your comments and Feedback on those

Workbench Juni #3 / June #3

Hello Folks

so we are on my workbench June #3. Its all about Deamons for Warhammer 40.000. We have a big Guy from Kromlech that will be the big unclean one in another style plus 2 deamon Princes from Legacy Miniatures. Those are very high detailed miniatures from both companys and come in high Quality resin casts. ( GW look at that, thats the was resin miniatures should look like )
The cleaning was very easy as ther was Close to nothing tocleanand the Assembling was very easy too.
Also we have a squad of Thousandsons on theworkbench not showen on the Pictures. A squad of 9 screamers of tzeench were alo ther but they are already finished and will be showen in another blog post.

Mai - Juni / May - June Workbench

Hello Folks

Here we go with a Little Workbench Update for the next few weeks. On the Workbench i have loads of Warhammer Fantasy miniatures to assemble and paint. First is the Nordland army Project, followed by the Ostermark Army and then some 40K again like Space Wolves and Chaos Space Marines. There we have 3 Cannon Emplacements with their Cannons & Crew, several Characters from different manufacturers, some Big Ones like the Steam Tank, the Orcanium and the War Altar, plus 32 Panther Knights and roundabout 50 Infantrymen from the Perrys and another 3 Demigriphons...and im sure my customer will add some other things too ;)

So here a few impressions of the actually totally chaotic workbench....some new Things from Hobby Zone are on the way to make a propper Workbench in the next couple of days :D

Here we have finally the War Sphinx Version of that awesome model. So just the warriors need to be done what will happen tomorrow :D

So now the customer has the choice, which version he wants to play.

Hier mal ein paar Work in Progress Bilder der Kriegssphinx der Gruftkönige.
Das Modell ist Magnetisiert um auch eine Necrosphinx darstellen zu können.
Wir haben also hier 2 Modelle in einem was zwar schlecht für den Umsatz von GW ist, dafür aber gut fürs Geldbörsal ;)

Das Modell dürfte diese Woche noch komplett fertig werden.
