Flamespyre Phoenix melts the Ice

Hello friends :)


So we are in the middle of the summer holiday season and i hope you all have a great time :)

Today i show off the Phoenix.
The whole Miniature but the High Prince have been painted 90% only with the Air Brush. I used several red and yellow tones plus some daylight glowing pigments that have been mixed with several add ons to make it workable for the air brush. Also i used several washes and shades that were airbrushed too to deepen the effects and seperate the areas.
The High Prince was strictly painted with the brush and has the same colorsheme than the Rest of the High Elves Army for the match.

The Base is again a big Rock with ice and snow but this time the bottom part is melted water near by the sea to give the whole Base the effect of melting ice running down the rock when the burning Phoenix flys over it.

Wir befinden uns mitten in der Ferien Saison und ich hoffe euch geht es gut im Urlaub :)

Heute zeige ich den Flammenphönix passend zur bestehenden Hochelfen Armee.
Der komplette Phönix wurde zu 90% mit der Airbrush gemacht. Ich habe diverse Gelb und Rottöne verwendet aber auch Tageslicht leuchtende Pigmente die ich mit diversen Mittelchen sprühbar gemacht habe. Ebenso wurden etliche Shades und Washes benuzt die auch mit der Airbrush gesprüht wurden um in bestimmten Bereichen mehr Tiefe zu erzielen.

High Elve Brotherhood of Averlon

It was quit for a while with the High Elves Project and the second half of the 400 Miniatures Army in this customer project.

So here I show you a small special inbetween this army. There is a squad called the Sisterhood of Averlon, wich is totally female elite squad. My customer wanted that unit but he didnt liked the original Games Workshop Miniatures for that squad and wanted to be more special and male. So we created the Brotherhood of Averlon. As there were no male models available for this we decided together to do them out of an wood elve warrior box. They still should match to the general Army color sheme and also had the idea of "stealth" warriors waiting in the back and secret to push forward in the right moment.
Some mystik idea behind i started to assemble those Minis and first wanted to create pure thrushining robes made of pure Ice. Testing this opportunity i found out it wouldnt work with the several techniques for frozen water, glacing and Icing i normally use.
So i decided to paint the cloaks frosted and add snow as the stealth thing.
Al colors were choosen to give it a very very ice and cold look. To make them match more to high elves than Wood elves i painted parts in metal colors to create the effect of "moving" thin metal armor.

We have 15 of these nice Miniatures here, some with double blades looking a bit like an assasin :) All others have the typical bow that was painted in frozen cold high blue metal color combined with white and gold.

So here is what came out :)

Es war eine Weile still still rund um das große Hochelfen Project und der zweiten Hälfte dieser 400 Miniaturen großen Armee.

Hier nun ein kleines Special dieser Armee. Es gibt eine Einheit die sich Die Schwesternschaft von Averlon nennt. Eine Elite Einheit die ausschließlich aus weiblichen Miniaturen besteht. Mein Kunde mag jedoch die Originalmodelle nicht und so entstand die Idee die Bruderschaft von Averlon zu kreieren, bestehend aus vorwiegend männlichen Modellen. Da es jedoch dafür keine fertigen Modelle gibt haben wir entschieden diese aus der Waldelfenkrieger Box selbst zu bauen.
Sie sollten weiterhin dem generellen Farbschema der Armee entsprechen und ich hatte die Idee sie als "getarnte" im Hintergrund lauernde Modelle darzustellen die im entscheidenden Moment ihr Versteck verlassen und über den Feind herfallen.
Auch einem etwas mystischen Hintergrund folgend begann ich die Modelle zusammen zu bauen. Die Roben sollten ursprünglich aus purem Eis bestehen was mich an die Grenzen des möglichen brachte und verworfen werden musste. Ich testete etliche Techniken um durchscheinendes Eis in der Form eines Umhanges zu machen, scheiterte jedoch egal welche Technik ich versuchte. ( ich denke abgießen mit durchsichtigem Resin wäre noch einen Möglichkeit gewesen die ich jedoch nicht ausprobiert habe )
Also benuzte ich den original Umhang und bemalte ihn in extrem kalten Farbtönen und gab ihm eine Art Tarnmuster aus Schnee.
Alles wurde in sehr kalten Farben bemalt und eine Art fließendes Metall gemalt um sie mehr an Hochelfen denn an Waldelfen aussehen zu lassen, quasi eine Arte Quecksilberartige Rüstung.

Hier nun was dabei raus gekommen ist :)

GROUP / GRUPPE

High Elve Bowmen and Eagles / Hochelfen Bogenschützen und Adler

Good morning, good day, good evening *lol*

So here is the next part of the High Elve Madness ( loads more to come in a couple of days/weeks )

Today i want to show you the 3 bowmen units( i call them Bowmen as these are not the normal Archer Models in plastic )
Each modell is taken from 7th and 6th Edition Shadow Warrior Boxes. Each Unit got a unique Champions model to stay a bit individual.
We have only a handfull of different poses that makes a clear look as one unit, acting as one.
The Capes were painted completely with the airbrush in about 6 layers and so they look a bit lighter than the rest to get some "we are magial High elve effect". Basing as the Rest in Winter theme. The Capes got a lil bit snow near the ground too to get the effect of digging from behind unseen thru the Winter Scenery so a bit Stealthy ;)

High Elve Dragon Princes with Charakters / Hochelfen Drachenprinzen mit Charakteren

And here we come to the Plunderbus, the massive Killteam with loads of attacks, high speed and wohoo the noble Princes of all time.
The High Elve Dragon Princes got a special colorsheme. Still matching to the Rest of the Army but with a touch of Red. The storyline says that the Dragon Princes had Red Mails but that wouldnt have matched to the Rest of the Army and so i decided to do just a bit of Red washing on some parts ;)
You see here on those pics some WIP and then the finished Unit including all mounted Characters so far.
The Unit was build with Placeholders again as the 2 mounted Hereos were builded out of the same Box. So we have a normal Command and 10 normal Knights. 2 of the Knights are assembled on the Placeholders.
The Banner will get a freehand later on ...

I hope you like them as they are really special colored and far a way from all the knowen colorshemes out there. I love them ;)

High Elve Pheonix Guard / Hochelfen Phönixgarde

Hello dear friends and followers.
As i mentioned before i will show up during the days, what the holiday season was done in the painting studio.

So on we go with the Pheonix Guard. The customers wish was a 30 miniature company builded out of 20 miniatures :D That sounds funny in the first but is a normal thing already in the tournament scene i guess. So the point is, to create placeholders instead of miniatures in the back lines of the unit to get them out as first losts in battle. So to keep straight with the idea of this High Elve Army, fighting in the cold ruins of a Nagarothi ruined City i hav added again those ruin arts from the Lord of the Rings Scenery Sprue. The miniatures were assembled arround that placeholders and gives a lot of deep and life to this unit.
The Winter has come more snowy and so we have a good general white theme to push the other colors in the army.

Loads of High Elves Characters / Jede Menge Hochelfen Charaktere

Hello my Dear Blog Readers :)
Its a while that i posted something. Yeah it was Holiday Season and so i had some Holidays too :)
But i wasnt lazy in this time. A lot of High Elves passed the workbench and some other stuff i will show you during the next couple of days.

I want to start with some Characters for the High Elve Army. We hav a mounted General, 2 mounted Heroes, a mounted mage, 2 mages on foot and a hero on foot...

So lets start with the general. Its the standard boxed miniature, a Dragon Prince on steed. Nothing special in the assembling, just right out of the box.

High Elve Mage #one / Magier der Hochelfen #eins

So this is the first of a few High Elve Mage Models in this series. He is a lower mage so not a spectacular extra things in the painting. So just a straight Paintjob in the typical color sheme.
As he is a Mage he has created a Ice Cube to stand above all others ;)

Hier nun der erste der Hochelfenmagier. Es werden ein paar mehr ;)Es ist ein Magier geringerer Stufe, deshalb ist die Bemalung sehr gerde heraus ohne viel Schnick Schnack drum herum.
Als Magier hat er sich einen Eiswürfel erschaffen auf dem er über allen anderen steht :)

High Elves Elysian Reavers / Elysianische Grenzreiter der Hochelfen

As i mentioned in the Thread before I will show you some more today :)
The Elysian Reavers i had showen before but without basing and regimental show of. I really love these Models from the STarter Box. I mean hey these are Snap Fit 3 parts Models with so much dynamic and detail...love them.

Color Sheme as always in this Army. The horses in a very soft brown tone.

So not much words needed...take a look :)

Wie heute schon angekündigt gibts heute etwas mehr zu sehen.
Die Elysianischen Grenzreiter der Hochelfen habe ich zwar schon vorher gezeigt, jedoch ohne Basing und nicht in Regimentsform wie sie bestellt wurden.
Also ich mag diese Modelle wirklich sehr. Ich meine hey, das sind 3teilige Snap Fit Modelle aus der Grundbox mit wirklich viel Dynamic und Details...im lovin it ^^

Das Farbschemaist bekannt und die Pferde sind in einem ganz leichtem Beige Braun Ton gehalten

Keine weiteres Gequassel nötig...schaut selbst :)

High Elves Bolt Thrower / Repertierspeerschleuder der Hochelfen

Hello again

Today i will show off a lot of things to you.
I start with the Bolt Throwers with emplacement. I had 3 (4) Bolt Throwers to do, 2 of them in Plastik and 2 from the older Range in White Metal. I know many people prefer still the Tin or White Metal Miniatures and so i am....not always ;) In this case the White Metal ones have been very very ugly castet. On the Cast we had a classical misscast with 0,5 to 1mm castlines. So i needed to use a lot of fantasy and muscle power to mak it closely matching without destroying most parts of the model. Believe me when ia was close before madness :) The Plastik ones came out very nice with less moldlines and a very very good casting.

So we have a battery of bolt throwers here, actually 3 and a 4th will follow soon. In practice it comes out more and more that a 60mm round base is the best way to give the Thrower a good stand and on the most tournaments thisversion is already the most used. But you know me eh ? I cant just put a Artillery just on a Base....i MUST do an emplacement :D To keep it in the way of the army look i assembled ruined parts of an old city to that emplacements. It will look pretty cool when you have them on a snowy hill in a line of fire i guess.

The colorsheme is still the same but here we dont hav those many turqouise reflections as we dont have many metal parts on the Thrower crew.

Heute wirds einige Bilder und Beiträge geben
Ich beginne mit den Repertierspeerschleudern mit Showbase. Ich hatte 3 (4) davon zu machen, 2 in Plastik und 2 in Metallaus der älteren Serie- Ich weis das viele die Metallrange mehr mögen als die Kunstoffmodelle und ich normalerweise auch. In diesem Fall waren die Metallschleudern leider sehr häßlich vergossen. Es gab einen Versatz von 0,5 bis 1mm und da musst ich teilweise mit Schlosserfeilen drann um das aus zu gleichen. Am Ende ist es halbwegs gelungen ;)

Also wir haben hier eine Batterie von drei Speerschleudern, eine 4 kommt dann noch hinzu. Wer mich kennt, weis das ich keine Kriegsmaschinen einfach so aufs Feld stelle. Also habe ich auch hier wieder einmal ein paar Showbases gemacht. Mittlerweile ist es üblich solche Kriegsmaschinen auf 60mm Rundbases zu stellen so auch hier. Rund herum entstand im sleben Stil wie im Rest der Armee wieder eine kleine Ruinenlandschaft in tiefem Schnee.

Das Frbschema ist gleich jedoch mit weniger türkisen Reflektionen da die Besatzung weniger Metall trägt.

Also ich denke wenn das ganze auf einem Winterspieltisch auf einem Hügel in einer Reihe steht schaut das ganz cool aus :)

High Elves Silver Helms / Hochelfen Silberhelme

Howdy Gang :D

So yesterday i showed the finished Frostheart Phoenix. Today is the day of the Cavalry Units. First to show are the Silver Helms.
This Unit was splittet in 3 equal Squads of 5 Models. So we have one 5pack with complete command group and two 5packs with one musician and 4 normal Riders. This gives the option to split in several possible Units with different size.
The Banner is taken from the Dragon Princes Sprue and some other parts are added to give this Unit a special flair as the bypacked Banner in the Silver Helms Box is just a small piece of cloth in the wind and not that what a High Elves Army should represent.

We still have that cold color sheme but the horses get a bit a warmer tone to get a lil bit contrast andkeep the white color on the miniatures generally to a minimum as the bases hav enough white on it.

Howdy Freund des gepflegten Tabletop

Gestern habe ich hier die fertigen Phönixe gezeigt. Heute gehts weiter mit der ersten Kavalery Einheit. Die erste Einheit sind die Silberhelme.
Die Einheit wurde in drei gleich große Squads gesplittet also 3 x 5 Modelle. Ein Squad bekam eine komplette Komando Einheit, die anderen beiden je einen Musiker neben 4 normalen Modellen. Dies bietet eine Menge Optionen auf dem Spieltisch da man hier einfach kombinieren kann und mit unterschiedlichen Einheitengrößen sehr flexibel ist.
Das Banner ist aus der Drachenprinzen Box, versehen mit ein paar anderen Bitz, da die eigentliche Silberhelm Standarte nur ein kleiner Stoffwimpel ist, der einer solchen Hochelfenarmee nicht würdig ist.
Auch hier bleiben wir bei dem kalten Farbschema, jedoch bekamen die Pferde ein etwas wärmeres Braun um ein bischen Kontrast zu erzielen. Weiß wird in der ganzen Armee bei den Modellen auf ein Minimum reduziert, da die Bases diesen Farbton inne haben.

FIRST STAND WITH COMMAND

Frostheartphoenix No.2 and No.1 with General

Hello again :)

Its such a bed weather the whole week with stormy and rain like pigs, so enough inspiration for those cold winter sheme highe elves army :D
This time we go with the latest Picts of the two Frostheart Phoenix. The first i showed in the last article but without its General on it.
The Generals Miniature was assembled seperatly from the rest of the model and was magnetised to make it possible to switch between a normal Frostheart Phoenix and one with a character riding it.
The second is just build as a normal Frostheart Phoenix without any extra options.
On the Picts you can see that both "birds" have been builded in different poses and on different Bases and hights they fly. Also it was clear to me that i dont want to have just a out of da box posing on those awesome Miniatures and so i used a lot of heat to form the wings in other angles etc.
As i can say, the both models were delivered yesterday, my customer was absolutely amazed by those two and so i hope you love them too ;)

Es ist so ein dermaßen schlechtes Wetter mit Wind, Sturm und Regen, das passt super um an den kalten winterlichen Hochelfen weiter zu arbeiten.
Es geht weiter mit den Frostphönixen. Im letzten Beitrag habe ich Euch ja schon den ersten gezeigt, jedoch ohne den General.
Der General wurde seperat vom Rest des Models gebaut und magnetisiert um diesem Phönix die Option zu geben, entweder als normaler Fhönix gespielt zu werden, oder mit einem Charaktermodel darauf.
Der zweite Phönix wurde ohne weitere Optionen gebaut.
Beide wurde so verändert, das sie sich deutlich von den Out of the Box Modellen unterscheiden. Es wurden unterschiedliche Posen dargestellt, die Flügel mit viel Hitze in eine andere Position gebracht und auch die Flugwinkel und Höhe wurde unterschiedlich gestaltet.
Soweit ich sagen kann, beide Modelle wurden gestern dem Kunden übergeben, ist mein Kunde äußerst zufrieden und gücklich mit dem Ergebniss. Ich hoffe auch Ihr mögt die Beiden ;)

FROSTHEART PHOENIX WITH GENERAL

High Elves Frostheart Phoenix / Hochelfen Frostphönix

Hello again in the High Elves Section :)

Today i will show you the first of 2 Frostheart Phoenix. This one showen is Nr. One and here we have the Option to add a General Model via magnets. This will be showen tomorrow.

I used very smooth, soft paints for this one but basically the general colors of the Army sheme. Some parts are differ assembled as the normal GW Modell coz on every gaming table youi see the same standard modell. The pose is meant that the Phoenix is just before grabbing some enemy so his wings are spread for landing.

The Base is dedicated to the general winter sheme of the army, you can see some detail pics by scrolling down.

Hallo und weiter gehts mit Hochelfen :)

Heute zeige ich euch den ersten von zwei Frostphönixen. Hier die Nr. eins die die Option hat ein Generals Modell auf zu setzten. Das zeige ich dann morgen.

Ich habe hier sehr weiche und softe, cremige Farben genommen die aber auf den Grundfarben der Armee basieren. Einige Teile habe ich etwas umgebaut weil auf jedem Spieltisch das Standart GW Modell zu sehen ist und ich das langweilig finde. Die Pose ist angelehnt an einen Raubvogel der gerade kurz davor steht nach seiner Beute zu greifen. Die Flügel sind so gestaltet das er gerade abbremst kurz bevor er zuschlägt.

Das Base ist klarerweise wieder an das Winterschema angelehnt, Detailbilder weiter unten.

High Elve White Lions / Weiße Löwen der Hochelfen

Hello Dear friends and followers

Here we go on with the High Elve Army project. The White Lions of Chrace.
The Army takes part in a very snowy landscape with loads of ruined buildings and a verry destroyed floor of marble.
The color sheme is leaned on VOLOMIRS High Elves. It was a lil bit a tricky thing to do those blueish reflections but with a good Airbrush everything is possible ;)
It is the first squad of white lions, a second one will follow ;)

So enough talking from me and let the pics speak :)

Weiter gehts mit den Hochelfen. Diesmal die Weißen Löwen von Chrace.
Die Armee steht in einem sehr verschneiten Gebiet der Dunkelelfen das übersät ist mit Ruinen und zerbrochenen Marmorböden.
Das Farbschema ist angelehnt an das Thema von VOLOMIR.Es ist ein bischen tricky die blauen Reflektionen zu machen, abermit einer guten Airbrush gehts dann doch ;)
Dies ist die erste Einheit Weiße Löwen, eine zweite wird folgen ;)

High Elve Reavers / Hochelfen Grenzreiter

Hi Folks

It's time to Show off the latest work on the High Elve Army.

This comission is a really big one and here we have the idea of a well knowen Color sheme from VOLOMIR's High Elves
So the complete Army is in that Color sheme but of course not in that Golden Deamon High Standard ;)

So These Reavers are finished as the first troops in that Army but the bases.
I will cast own bases for that army and apply them later during the process.
